Accommodation Request Process
- Student will submit an application and relevant supporting documentation to the DRC office. Students can make accommodation requests at any point in the semester.
- DRC staff will review the accommodation request and documentation. A meeting with the student will be scheduled to develop an accommodation plan.
- Once reasonable accommodations have been determined, accommodations will be entered in Banner, and the student will submit Notification Letters to instructors for courses in which accommodations are needed.
- If testing accommodations are included in the student's plan, the student is required to submit a test request every time they plan to use their testing accommodations. When a test request has been submitted, the instructor will receive an email regarding the student’s request. The instructor needs to review the test request for accuracy and address any concerns with the DRC Testing Center no later than 2 business days prior to the test date.
- If you have questions or concerns about an accommodation, please contact the DRC via phone at 662-325-3335 or email at drc@msstate.edu.
Accommodations are active when the Notification Letter is sent to the instructor. Accommodations are not retroactive, meaning instructors are not required to grant the use of accommodations for assignments prior to the date the student received accommodations.
