Academic & Classroom Accommodations
Academic and classroom accommodations focus on the delivery of course instruction, the accompanying materials, and the physical layout and location of the classroom.
Accommodation plans are developed between a DRC Coordinator and the student based on documentation provided by medical providers and school systems. Occasionally, the DRC office will collaborate with the course instructor to develop reasonable accommodations that meet the fundamental learning objectives requirements for the course.
- Students must apply for accommodations through Banner. Students who are requesting accommodations for the first time at MSU can visit New to the DRC: Requesting Accommodations to learn how to apply for accommodations at MSU.
- Students returning to MSU who already have accommodation plans can visit Returning Students: Adding and Updating Accommodations to learn how to request additional accommodations to update a current accommodation plan.
- For information regarding documentation for academic accommodations, visit Documentation Guidelines.
- Accommodations are not active until instructors have been notified by students via the Notification Letter process in Banner. For information on how to notify instructors, visit How and When to Notify Instructors of Accommodations.
